Abstract
The Philadelphia chromosome (Ph') has been considered relatively specific for chronic
granulocytic leukemia.
But, sporadic cases of Ph'-positive acute myeloblastic leukemia have also been
reported.
It is difficult to distinguish between the patients presenting with Ph'-positive acute
myeloblastic leukemia and Ph'-positive chronic myelocytic leukemia who enter blast
crisis.
However, it is clinically important consider separately Ph'-positive acute myeloblastic
leukemia because this discase appears to be associated with an overall worse prognosis
and a lower remission rate than Ph'-negative acute myeloblastic leukemia.
We experienced a case of Ph'-positive acute myeloblastic leukemia in a 43 year old
woman who has been diagnosed as having acute myeloblastic leukemia and revealed the
Ph' chromosome in cytogenetic study in bone marrow.
So, we present this case with the review of literatures.
